Amy Gutmann

Amy Gutmann is a prominent American academic and diplomat, born in 1949. Her field of expertise lies in philosophy, which has been a cornerstone of her distinguished career. Gutmann's academic pursuits have been complemented by her diplomatic endeavors, notably her tenure as the United States Ambassador to Germany, a position she held from 2022 to 2024.

Prior to her ambassadorial role, Gutmann served as the president of the University of Pennsylvania, a position she held from 2004 to 2022.
