Willa Schneberg

American poet (born 1952)

Willa Schneberg is a prominent American poet, born in 1952. Her literary career spans multiple publications, including five full-length poetry collections that showcase her unique voice and perspective. Notably, her collection "In The Margins Of The World" earned the prestigious Oregon Book Award in 2002. Her other notable works include "Box Poems", "Storytelling In Cambodia", "Rending the Garment", and her most recent release, "The Naked Room", which debuted in 2023.

In addition to her individual publications, Schneberg has also collaborated on interdisciplinary projects. One such project is the letterpress chapbook "The Books of Esther", which was produced in conjunction with an exhibit at the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education. Currently, she is working on "What We Hold & Leave Behind", a collaborative project with Jim Lommasson that celebrates the lives of over 20 elder poets, including former Oregon Poet Laureates and fellow poets. This project highlights Schneberg's commitment to exploring the human experience through poetry and her dedication to the literary community.
