Steve Lieberman is a New York musician born in 1958. He is a Jewish-American punk rock and metal singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumental musician, also known as the Gangsta Rabbi and The King of Jewish Punk. Lieberman is a composer, arranger, and producer, and has been involved in various musical projects throughout his career. He is also a former village comptroller and resides in Freeport, New York.
Lieberman is the founder of The Bad'lanim, a minority sect of Judaism, and has been a vegetarian since 1995. He is also a Hebrew Nazarite. In the music scene, Lieberman has made a notable impact, particularly with his experimental fusion of genres, which led to the development of "Militia Punk," a unique blend of noise-punk, thrash-metal, and military music. He held the Guinness World Record for the Longest Officially Released Song with "The Noise Militia" from 2020 to 2021, and later created an even longer sequel, "The Post-Militia Pogo-Battalion," although his attempt to reclaim the record was unsuccessful.
