Miller's influence on American popular music peaked in the 1950s and early 1960s, as he held a pivotal position as the head of artists and repertoire at Columbia Records. In addition to his work behind the scenes, he also achieved success as a recording artist and television personality, hosting the NBC series Sing Along with Mitch. His albums topped the Canadian charts for 22 weeks between 1959 and 1962, solidifying his status as a household name.
