Israeli poet (1936–2016)

Israel Eliraz was a prominent Israeli poet, born in 1936, whose literary career spanned several decades. Throughout his life, he made significant contributions to the field of literature, earning numerous accolades for his work. He also received the Nathan Alterman Award, the Jerusalem Foundation-Jerusalem Municipality's Belles-Lettres Award, and awards from the Israeli Council of Culture and Art and the Ministry of Culture and Sport. In 2009, he was honored with the Ministry of Culture and Sport Award, and he also received the Prime Minister's Prize for Creative Work.
