David Wolpe is a prominent American rabbi, born in 1958, who has made significant contributions to the field of Judaism. Throughout his career, he has held various academic and leadership positions, including Visiting Scholar at Harvard Divinity School and teaching roles at esteemed institutions such as the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, American Jewish University, Hunter College, and UCLA. His expertise and influence have been recognized through his appointment as the Max Webb Rabbi Emeritus of Sinai Temple.

Wolpe's impact extends beyond his academic and religious affiliations, as he has been named one of the most influential rabbis in America by Newsweek in 2012. He has also been recognized as one of the 500 most influential individuals in Los Angeles in 2016 and 2018. Currently, he serves as the Inaugural rabbinic fellow for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and as a Senior Advisor for the Maimonides Fund. Notably, Wolpe resigned from an advisory group on antisemitism at Harvard in December 2023, citing a hostile environment towards Jews at the institution.
